However, we also recognise that trees have a relative place within the urban environment. Where a tree has become hazardous, containment or removal of the hazard becomes priority. Where there is risk of damage to buildings, works need to be undertaken to manage this risk. Or, where a tree becomes obstructive, in terms of light or access, then pruning may be undertaken to deal with this problem.
