Tree surveys provide a centralised database of all trees in a specified area. A range of data can be collected for each tree, and most surveys will contain at least the location (GPS or Map Co-Ordinate), species, physiological characteristics and condition of each tree.
Tree Surveys are of benefit when developing arboricultural and/or horticultural management plans for a specific site, such as parks, school yards and public amenity areas. They enable an immediate reference point for the location of each tree, and a data point around which tree works can be noted and monitored. Assessments made at the time of recording each tree can inform a pattern of works around which a site management program can be developed.
